Anders Kijkers: The Island I Am

For Fonds ZOZ, I developed and directed a series of video portraits that spotlight socially engaged makers — among them Sharine Rijsenburg, a visual anthropologist investigating colonial image-making in The Island I Am.
 

My aim was to translate Fonds ZOZ’s mission — supporting storytellers who challenge fixed narratives — into personal, documentary-style portraits that feel human and unforced. No scripted slogans, but honest reflections that connect policy ideals with lived experience.
